2. Is this your hobby? I am a full time professional artist.

3. What other art do you do? Paintings in acrylics and in oils..

4. How many people have you drawn at this event? Drawing requires a high degree of concentration, so I never get to count as I go. On average I do 12--15 faces per hour in color.

5. What kind of pastels are you using? I use Prismacolor Art Stix. They are wax based, like a crayon, and they are smudge-free, neat and clean. Please do NOT spray them! They are fine as they are, just leave your drawing in the bag until you're ready to frame it.

6. Please don't draw my ________ so _________!  Your caricature will look like a cartoon version of you---goofy, but cute.

7. How do you pronounce caricatures? KARE-i-kuh-choors.

8. Would you like a beer? Very kind of you to offer, but no thanks, I never drink and draw.

9. Would you color this black and white drawing made by the other artist?  Why not make a photocopy of the drawing and color the copy. Save the original unaltered-- someday it could be valuable, you never know.

10. Does your hand ever get tired? Yes, after several hours of drawing.

11. How did you learn to draw like that? Art is like music and sports. You need training and practice. I've had a lot of both.

12. Have you ever drawn yourself? I'd much rather draw other people, they're more interesting!

13. How did you get into caricaturing? I took a cartooning class from a well known Austin caricature artist, and he recruited me. 

14. Hey! Wait! You're leaving? Can't you do just one more? I work very hard to ensure everyone in the line gets a caricature. Otherwise, when my time is up, I draw the last person in line, and sorry, but that's all I can do. The exception is the Guest of Honor and/or the Party Planner and I will gladly stay over a few minutes to draw them. Handy tip: Always be the first person in line whenever you know there will be a caricaturist around!
